We are an independent foodbank serving residents of Rye and the surrounding villages. We are entirely staffed by volunteers and are wholly financed by charitable giving.
Rye Baptist Church is our overseeing charity registration number 1188057. We are housed in the premises of the Baptist Church. We are under the umbrella of Rye Churches Together.
We work closely with other support agencies and have a resident benefits advisor during opening hours. We are generously supported by many organisations, businesses and individuals in our local community.
Our purpose is to provide food to those that need it for whatever reason.
The quality and range of food that we offer our clients is very important to us. We cater for all dietary needs, including food preferences, enabling our clients, whenever possible, the ability to choose what they eat. As well as the essential foods, we encourage our community to donate what they love to eat!
We listen to the needs of our clients, which are often complex. As the clients get to know us, we try to help find solutions to their situations and where possible signpost them to other agencies that can help them past their need for a food bank. Strong relationships have been established with Hastings Advice and Representation Centre and Family Support Work and Rother District Housing. We are always here to assist, however, our priority is to enable our clients to no longer need our help.
